AN INTERNATIONAL COACHING AND CONSULTING COMPANY

ABOUT SILK ROAD INTERNATIONAL (SRI)

Silk Road International (SRI) is an international coaching and consulting company that helps clients solve problems and overcome cultural issues that often attend international business, particularly in East and Southeast Asia. SRI focuses on cross-cultural understandings and communications as the basis for resolving conflicts in international corporate settings. For us, culture trumps strategy in day-to-day workspaces. A recognition of culturally based motivations and values allows for both a deeper appreciation of similarities and a better understanding of differences. Business coaching, culture evaluations, training events, and consulting centered on the beliefs and daily habits of individuals inform SRI’s behavior-centered solutions.

For almost 20 years SRI has helped companies and individuals re-value competing influences and improve communications. SRI supports an understanding of regional corporate, local, legal, and political cultures. By maximizing individual capabilities SRI helps facilitate professional competencies and more effective corporations.

SRI’s managing partners have more than 50 years of on-the-ground business, management, academic, and consulting experience in Asia. SRI has worked with SOEs, start-ups, MNCs, factories, SMEs, NGOs, individuals, and government bureaucracies in multiple countries in Southeast Asia and Greater China.

Your Branch Office in Asia

Does your corporate culture work in another culture?

Do you know what the motivations, values, and norms of your foreign partners and employees are? Do you know how to help them succeed? Do they understand your goals and expectations?

We can help.

Social Knowledge Transfer

Does your mission/vision/values really work for your international partners? It’s not just technical skills and knowledge, it’s culture—your culture, their culture, and a shared corporate culture. It’s about being efficient, communicating, working together, often in a second or third language (and sometimes over spicy food at a KTV bar!).

We can help.

Interpreters, not translators

Sure, you’re using the same words, but do they mean the same things?

You can hire just about anyone to help you figure out what’s being said. But that’s usually not enough. You need to know what’s going on—you want to understand their meanings, nuance, innuendo, and feelings.

We can help.

Experience Matters

Connecting successfully with international partners requires experience and understanding. We learned the hard way—on our own—so that you don’t have too. We’ve been working for ourselves and others in China and Southeast Asia for more than 30 years.
